Our environment is a precious place. We’ve been thinking about how we can best look after it.
We’ve started Eco-Warrior projects like making habitats for animals in the forest, promoting classrooms to be more environmentally friendly and making our outside spaces more bird-friendly. Next week, we would like to make bird feeders – please would you bring in for us if you have any seeds or seed holders we can use.
And we’ve been writing some wonderful animal poems this week, focusing on ‘expanded noun phrases’. Play a learning game here to review what we learned http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/z3nfw6f.
In maths, we’ve been trying to master reading the time on clocks to the nearest 5 minutes. We found that making connections to our 5x table and fractions (quarter past, half past, quarter to) helped us a lot. Time Practice Sheets.

“Ofcom research has shown that 94% of 5-15 year olds live in a household with internet access and over a third of all 3-4 year olds are now accessing the internet in their homes. We know that children need support in these environments, to get the best out of using the internet, and there are real advantages in making sure that children are supported in their internet use right from the start.” http://www.childnet.com/ufiles/Keeping-Under-Fives-Safe-Online.pdf
