English – The Great Fire of London – Letter writing
Wow what a week it has been! The children have worked incredibly hard writing letters this week. They have collated information from a range of sources about the Great Fire of London and even acted out a live interview with the Mayor (class teacher). The children confidently addressed the Mayor with all of their questions. They tried their hardest to persuade him to help the people of London but unfortunately were not successful. Consequently they have had to write to the King to see if he will help them. I wonder what his reply will be?
Maths – Adding two digit numbers without regrouping
The children have been learning how to add two digit numbers this week without regrouping, focusing on our tens and our ones. They have also been practicing their 10 and their 5 times tables in class and using what they know to work out what they don’t know.
Coming up next week…
English: we are writing informal letters using humor.
Maths: We will be focusing on addition and subtraction with 2 digit numbers.
Topic: We will be making predictions and testing the suitability of everyday materials.
Have a wonderful weekend!
