In Year 2 this week we have been learning about the Great Fire of London. On Monday KS1 travelled back to 1666, Pudding Lane in London. Together we retold the key events of the Great Fire of London in the school hall. We have been writing recounts and focusing on time connectives (first, then, next, after that, eventually, finally).
Challenge: How many facts can you remember and write down over the weekend?
Our spelling focus has been adding (ed) to the end of different words and we have been learning the common exception words – because, people and everybody.
In Maths this week we have been learning about the place value of 2-digit numbers. What number does 3 tens and 4 ones make?

Next week: Next week is Shakespeare week and we will be emerged in all things mysterious and magical. Please can the children bring in any twigs and leaves that they can collect into school. These will be used to create some beautiful fairy houses. Don’t forget out snuggle with a story sessions. Please see our classroom windows for dates and times.
Have a great weekend!
